NYC TRIP WITH KENNY (part 2)

Day 3
(Carol-Ann)

We decided to start our first full day in NYC with a boat cruise that took us around Manhattan in a path where we would see the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the many bridges that cross the water.  Our tour guide did an excellent job pointing out all of the major sights along the way, adding in fun stories, historical points and common rumors about the history of each landmark.  Here are some of the pictures from our cruise:

That afternoon, Kenny met up with some of his high school buddies, while Ethan and I wandered around NYU, visited a farmer's market at Union Square, and saw a filming of the Muppets at Washington Square Park.  We found a great place to eat "famous" burgers, tried some yummy gelato, and picked up a bottle of apple wine at the farmers market.  A very big portion of our time in New York was spent eating - it's a good thing we had to walk everywhere!

Speaking of food, our dinner plans that night included stopping by to visit with our cousin Alice and her boyfriend, Parker.  We got to see Alice's cute apartment, then wandered down 9th street to find a restaurant.  The boys insisted that we find "good food and great beer" so we stopped at a restaurant that had a decent looking menu, several draft microbrews, and was packed with people - always a good sign.  Fortunately we were seated quickly, and easily found several menu items that looked enticing.  From crab dip to bison and lamb burgers, we happily ate and talked the night away.  We said goodnight to Alice, and headed back towards our hotel to recover and recharge for our last day of adventures in New York City!
