NYC TRIP WITH KENNY (part 3)

Day 4
(Carol-Ann)

The morning of our second full day in NYC, Kenny and I decided to wake up eary (in true Tyler fashion) and head up to Central park for a morning walk. It was a beautiful day, and we wandered through on different trails, seeing everything from Turtle Pond and the castle that sits above it, to watching a huge group of people playing various sports on one of the giant lawns. There were bikers, runners, people playing baseball, and others doing pilates in the grass. We spent several hours in Central Park, and still only saw a small portion of it!

We ended our walk through Central Park at the west side, and took a brief look around inside the American Museum of Natural History.  It was incredible to see the enormous dinosaur skeletons - they had every kind you could imagine, and as we walked through the displays I couldn't help but think about scenes from the movie "The Land Before Time".

That afternoon, Ethan caught up with us as we headed down to "Top of the Rock", which is the outlook at the top of Rockefeller Center.  It gives a 360degree view of the Big Apple, along with several observation posts that allow you to zoom in on different buildings.  We had fun looking for the landmarks that we had seen from the water earlier in our trip.  It was certainly a different view, looking down on these huge buildings from above!  We spent the rest of our day wandering around the streets of New York, ducking into the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a quick look at their Van Gough and Monet paintings, then heading back to the hotel to get dressed up for the highlight of our trip - a show on BROADWAY!  (more on that soon)
